Amazon.com Launches Kindle Owners' Lending Library Today

Today, Amazon has launched a new service for owners of its Kindle devices, the Kindle Owners' Lending Library...

The Kindle Owners' Lending Library is available to any Kindle owner who has an Amazon Prime membership, and users will be able to borrow books from the library for free, announced Jeff Bezos, Founder & CEO of Amazon.com.

According to Amazon, Kindle owners can now choose from thousands of books to borrow for free, including over 100 current and former New York Times Bestsellers, as frequently as a book a month, with no due dates. The Kindle Owners' Lending Library features a wide array of popular titles, award-winning novels, biographies and memoirs, and Pulitzer Prize-winning books and more.

Amazon Prime is a membership program that gives customers and their families unlimited fast shipping, such as FREE Two-Day shipping and One-day shipping for $3.99 per item on all eligible purchases for an annual membership fee of $79. Amazon Prime members can enjoy instant videos: unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows through Amazon Instant Video at no additional cost. Eligible customers can try out a membership by starting a one-month free trial.

If you’re a Kindle owner with Prime, you can start borrowing books today. If you don’t yet have a Kindle, the all-new Kindle family is available from just $79.
